The Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce will host another business education engagement for its small members on the topic of Filing Your Tax Returns Made Easy – for Small Business. This event is part of the Small Member Support Program (SMSP) schedule which was launched on May 6, 2021.
The Chamber of Commerce, recognizing that approximately 68% of its members employ between 1 and 20 people, has developed programs that provide its members in this category with targeted support that will help them navigate the recent pandemic. In addition, SMSP provides information, skills and knowledge designed to enable little Chamber members to grow and develop. Small Member Support Program partners include Courts Ready Cash, Development Bank of Saint Lucia, German Sparkerssenstifung East Caribbean, Bank of Saint Lucia and 1st National Bank.
On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, starting at 4:00 p.m., experts from the Inland Revenue Department will provide participants with the information needed to complete tax returns. Many companies have found the process to be administratively burdensome and complex and will therefore have the opportunity to meet with experts from the Inland Revenue Department to resolve any issues previously encountered.
The Chamber therefore invites all of its members and the business community at large, in particular the self-employed and small business owners and operators, to learn more about and better understand the process of filing tax returns, to register for the workshop with the secretariat of the Chamber by e-mail info @stluciachamber.org or call 4523165.
The IRD has informed the Business Community that the deadline for submission is March 31, 2022.
