During a press briefing in Kannauj, Yadav attacked the BJP for spreading the “stench of hatred”, as searches progressed on the premises of Pushpraj Jain – the businessman who launched the SP attar (perfume). He said the BJP was not only trying to defame the SP, but also to defame Kannauj, famous for its fragrances much like Grasse – the perfume capital of France.
Kannauj is a stronghold of the SP and Yadav won his first Lok Sabha election from here in an indirect poll. Akhilesh’s wife, Dimple Yadav, has also served as the district deputy twice.
Addressing BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other state and national leaders of the BJP, Yadav said “while during the d ‘Adolf Hitler (in Germany), there was a separate propaganda ministry, the whole BJP stands for propaganda … It’s a propaganda government. They polluted politics. ” Responding to a question from the media, he called on the EC not to authorize any searches before the end of the elections, if this is possible under the model code of conduct because “no party can compete with the BJP propaganda machine” .
He said that while the SP allied with regional parties, the BJP had an “internal understanding” with the ED, CBI and other central agencies.
The SP also released a new slogan “ek akela lad jayega, jeetega aur badh jayega”, seeking to project Yadav fighting against the collective power of the BJP and central agencies.
He also said the “real battle” was between the BJP in the center and the BJP in Lucknow, referring to the sudden change in the UP’s chief secretary. Without naming Durga Shankar Mishra, Yadav said it was a sort of “revenge” on the part of the Center for not making AK Sharma, Modi’s trusted bureaucrat, a deputy CM.
He also said that the Jan Vishwas Yatra or BJP roadshows attracted even fewer people than a “chowmein stall”.
